About Us
Our Mission
Creative Jazz Club is an artist-led initiative to support and promote the performance of original and contemporary jazz and improvised music in Aotearoa, New Zealand, operating for over a decade since late 2009.
We aim to nurture emerging talent, provide a space for experienced musicians to stretch, and grow and support an audience for original high-quality musical performance.
Weekly Jazz Performances
We stage and promote weekly performances of original and creative jazz by local musicians, and international visiting artists, every Wednesday at Anthology, 375 Karangahape Rd, from 8-10pm.
From time to time also promote and hold special events and series, working in partnership with venues and organisations to do so.
Who We Are
CJC is managed on a voluntary basis by by a trio of Auckland musicians: Roger Manins, Caro Manins, and Ben McNicoll; with the support of a number of music students, musicians, and enthusiasts.
Over the years we have moved between venues as our audience has grown, and we thank One2One Cafe, 1885 Britomart, The Albion, The Thirsty Dog, Backbeat, and now the awesome team at Anthology for their support.
