Wahine in Jazz present two band-leaders making their CJC debut.
Imogen Pearce
Now in her final year of her Jazz Performance studies at The University of Auckland, bassist Imogen Pearce takes inspiration from other Wāhine in the industry, performing several compositions by her favourite Wāhine artists. The quintet will present a mixture of modern jazz compositions and classics, highlighting some emerging voices in the Auckland jazz scene.

We first met Elinor (Ella) when she came to a jam at the tail end of her time in high-school , and she has been a frequent collaborator and appreciated member of our community ever since. Ella Jean is an avid vocalist and instrumentalist, finding passion in performing, and exploring the depths of vocals within jazz music.
