Iggy Nama Ruci Quartet
Iggy Nama Ruci is a young beastly saxophonist and flautist residing in Tāmaki. He draws a lot of his inspiration from his time spent playing in India and Cape Town.
He brings a fresh, powerful presence and a lot of interesting musical ideas through composition and improvisation. Many of his tunes are inspired by Thelonious Monk, Abdullah Ibrahim, and Ben Van Gelder.
The Iggy Nama Ruci Quartet has played at numerous places such as the Wellington Jazz Festival and ATO.
The band features Michael Nash on piano, Max Crook on drums, and Wil Goodinson on bass.
