Led by our own Ben McNicoll, Ijebu Pleasure Club is a 12 piece afrobeat powerhouse.

They’ll be inviting you to let down your hair, and shake off the year that has been 2020.

THIS GIG WILL BE A LIMITED SEATING EVENT TO ALLOW ROOM FOR DANCING.

Sadly, among everything else, 2020 saw the loss of Tony Allen, the drummer integral to the Afrobeat sound with Fela Kuti.

We’ll be celebrating Tony’s contribution to music by playing some of his compositions, as well as music he played with Fela, and a few of our pop interpretations for good measure.

Presented in association with the Wahine in Jazz collective, Cold-Flame is the brainchild of Wyn Leng, a young and rising vocalist and singer-songwriter who moved to Aotearoa from China in 2021. She brings an array of original compositions inspired by other art forms like poetry, paintings, and films, with Iggy Nama Ruci, Michael Nash, Tyler Diprose and Max Crook.
